John Park

John Park is an applied researcher who facilitates learning across disciplines, sectors, and social groups. John’s close understanding of partners’ assets and needs allows him to contribute long-term capacity building for their organizations. He is appreciated for designing experiences and products that are grounded in trusted relationships and tailored to the operational contexts of partners.

His research capacities include survey methods, exploratory data analysis, field experiments, social network analysis, in-depth interviews, focus groups, and qualitative analysis. Additionally, John creates compelling and brand-consistent data visualizations including figures, maps, and interactive dashboards.

In New York City, John has developed monitoring and evaluation systems for the Office of the Mayor, Police Department, and the Department of Youth and Community Development. His participatory approach to these projects involved training a team of program participants to co-design their own program. John has also provided technical assistance on projects for MetroWest College Planning Collaborative, Center for All Abilities, NYC Administration for Children’s Services, the City of Hartford, City Seminary, and Yale School of Public Health. A positive youth development practitioner, John has taught high school research methods at Baruch College and worked at a public middle school as a City Year student success coach.

As a facilitator, John has led youth mentoring workshops for companies such as Deloitte, Citi, Mastercard, Chanel, and LVMH. He has also facilitated participatory budgeting sessions and intergenerational civic engagement gatherings in dozens of NYC neighborhoods.

John earned his Bachelors degree in Statistics and Data Science from Yale University.
