Humana

Everyday Leadership Development for Humana’s Asian and Pacific Islander (HAPI) Network

Humana’s HAPI Network sought to empower its members - rising professionals across the organization - with practical tools to lead confidently, regardless of formal title or role. The goal was to build leadership awareness and cross-cultural fluency among 150–200 employees across the U.S., while fostering connection and community in a virtual learning environment. The curriculum needed to be culturally attuned, research-based, and immediately applicable in participants' day-to-day professional lives.

Challenge

Cora Group designed and delivered a customized “Everyday Leadership” curriculum tailored specifically for the HAPI audience. Delivered virtually to a national group, the program blended leadership theory with interactive, small-group exercises to encourage self-reflection, dialogue, and skill-building.

The four-module series covered:

  • Leadership in Any Role – Cultivating everyday leadership through intentional actions and presence

  • Making Sure Your Voice is Heard – Communicating with clarity and confidence in meetings and conversations

  • Conflict Management – Navigating disagreement and leveraging difference for shared problem-solving

  • Personal Branding – Crafting and owning a compelling professional identity

The sessions incorporated real-world management scenarios requiring cross-cultural awareness and behavioral flexibility, helping participants recognize and respond to the unique challenges and opportunities of diverse workplace dynamics.

Solution

The program was met with highly favorable feedback, as captured in a post-program survey administered by Humana. Participants reported feeling more confident in their ability to lead, communicate effectively, and advocate for themselves and others. The program fostered a stronger sense of community within the HAPI network, while equipping employees with essential skills to grow as inclusive, values-driven leaders - wherever they are in their career journey.
